Christmas in Germantown
As a child, I have some really fond memories of my family & extended family taking trips to the COOLEST themed Germantown in Leavenworth, Washington. Country Living Magazine ranked this town TOP 10 to visit during Christmas and that we did. We would stay in a German-themed motel and spend ALL DAY playing in the snow - sledding, tubing, etc... It was a blast! Once the sun went down, we would always eat at this restaurant in town where they served HUGE pretzels, schnitzel, and brats while playing authentic german music - it's quite the experience. And just outside the main street is the town's gazebo where Christmas lights line all the trees.
This year was a little different - COVID was a thing. Restaurants only served food outside and in 24-degree weather with little kids, we decided to pass. We still had the opportunity to sled which was a first for the girls and we had a chance to drive to Lake Chelan - which was a first for me. After driving through town, I definitely have plans to visit Chelan in the summer to try the many activities that they offer.
All in all, we had a great time and it's something that I (now) am able to experience with my family and make memories for years to come. So I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday and Happy New Year! Wishing the best to all this year!
