Considering Colorado to Elope? You really should!
If these images of our Elopement Session at the Garden of the God's doesn't convince you to elope in Colorado - I'm not sure what will.... because it was AMAZING! Do you know that the Garden of the God's is a FREE park of over 1,300 acres of sandstone formations and multiple hiking trails? So if you're looking for breathtaking views for ZERO $$ - this is your place. All 4 seasons has something incredible to offer in terms of views... I mean, these images were taken in February and it was 70 degrees outside.
Truth be told - this couple was married in Chicago 2 days prior to our Elopement Session with an intimate ceremony of only 19 people. Their honeymoon ended up being in Colorado Springs and just as fate would have it, we connected via Facebook groups and the rest was history. I became their photographer. I was and AM completely honored to have met and photographed these two amazing people. Their energy was incredible and their personalities were infectious and the location couldn't be beaten. They had enough love to fill that entire park and I'm so honored to have worked with them.
Just a few takeaways that I learned from my time at the Garden of the God's:
- Get a FREE map at the Visitor Center - This will help you map out where you would like to go, view the locations of the formations, and how long it will take you to walk to get to them.
- Realistic Timing - Since Golden Hour (first hour after sunrise or before sunset) is a photographer's best friend, plan on timing based on that PLUS a weekday (M-Thur)... Our Elopement Session was on a Monday (during COVID) and while it was still busy, I'm told that on the Weekends you can't even find parking spaces (which are heavily limited near the formations)... Thank goodness we never had that issue.
- The ceremony location is first-come-first-serve - So have a backup plan and limit your guest count to less than 25 guests.
