What should I wear for a Motherhood Mini Session?
Welcome Mamas! Whether you've signed up for my Simple Motherhood Mini Sessions or would like to get a few ideas for an upcoming Family Session, you're in the right place. I'm going to share with you a few helpful tips for you & your babies on what you should wear to look and feel your best.
TIP #1 - Find an Outfit that Fits
Please hear me out - this piece of advice is by no means to shame ANYONE however I can't tell you how many women (myself included) will buy something that is just a little too tight or a little too short in hopes that it will fit just right by a certain day. What happens in reality is that it will still end up fitting the same way as when we bought it. Then we end up feeling self conscious and uncomfortable at the shoot and what does that do - it shows all over our face in the photos therefore ruining your experience and not liking the pictures.
So ladies, let's promise each other something - let's find outfits that flatter our beautiful bodies so that when you get your pictures back, you can say, "Ummm yeah, that's right, I looked gooood."
TIP #2 - Find an Outfit that Compliments your Kids
I'm a big fan of finding outfits that compliments your kids - not having an exact match with your kids. There are some really fun outfits that are identical for Mom & Daughter - I've seen some great ones for Maternity Sessions or even Swimsuits. However those are more for social media influencers, etc., and I feel that having a variety of colors (from the same color palette) and textures really photograph better than all matching attire.
However, when siblings match, that usually turns out the best. Here are a few examples of recent sessions:

TIP #3 - Accessories are OK!
Accessories can be a great thing! Chic hats, trendy headbands, infinity scarves, cowboy boots or a cute little accent belt - they are all welcome and encouraged! These elements add so much texture and variety to your photos that really help them stand out. Also, I love photographing little details with every session so the more unique accessories, the better!
